Scott and I are always dreaming of new places to explore all over the world. Since we obviously can’t visit every single city and country all at once, we came up with a series where we will highlight a specific place that we are currently dreaming of exploring. Who knows, we may even inspire you to travel to a few of these places!
In this daydream I find myself in The Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia. The vast waterfalls and bluish green waters of the lakes surround me in every direction. I know from reading about this place that there are 16 lakes, but all I can see is endless bodies of emerald water and gushing waterfalls.
Plitvice Lakes National Park is a two-hour drive south of the capital city of Zagreb in Croatia. The park can be visited year round and is especially magnificent in winter when the falls are frozen. You have your choice of 3 hotels inside the park, or you can find a number of budget accommodation choices in the villages of Rastovaca and Korana.
We hope to make our travel daydream a reality by visiting Croatia and the Plitvice Lakes National Park.
