Today is my birthday and it’s the first time I have felt compelled to write. I have been hiding out for the past two weeks after a devastating blow to one of our passions.

Just as I thought I was at the final stretch and my sleepless nights mixed with bikini nightmares would end… I was mistaken.

I have some exciting news! Today I cut down my bookkeeping work schedule from four days a week to two and I’m hiring an assistant to pick up the extra work. I couldn’t be happier about it!

With the launch of OT Surf Apparel coming up in February, I have been thinking a lot about the risks of taking big chances in life. The fear of failure has been creeping its way into my psyche at all hours of the day… but usually right about the time when I should be sleeping.

A couple of weeks ago, we announced that we are starting a business in architectural photography in addition to traveling, working full-time and maintaining a blog. What we didn’t mention is that we are also researching and writing a photography e-book and very recently starting a new venture

We realize we don’t write enough about what is going on in our personal lives on our blog and that is something we plan to change. From now on, we will write updates on things that are going on in our lives in addition to giving you travel stories and travel and photography tips.

I wanted to take some time today to shed a little light on an online course we have been taking and have found to be extremely helpful in building our blog and our business.
