Let the Tropical Adventures Begin!

Tropical Island - Bali

We feel extremely blessed and thankful for all of the unique travel experiences we have had this year and now the last four months of 2012 are shaping up to be even more exciting!

If you are considering an island or tropical destination for your next trip, we will be getting a good glimpse of a few of these places in the next four months, so stayed tuned for lots of tropical island tips (like how not to come home covered in mosquito bites!).

I’m dubbing the end of 2012 as our tropical adventures. Not every place we will be visiting is an island, but they are all centered around beautiful beaches, warm water and tropical weather.

Riviera Maya, Mexico

In September, I (Christy) will be visiting the Mayan Riviera. The Mayan Riviera is a place that I have regretted not exploring more. I stayed in Playa Del Carmen on three different occasions, but I did not venture out to the ruins.

The itinerary for this trip includes exploring Tulum, Sian Ka’an, Rio Secreto, an ATV tour and snorkeling in the breathtakingly clear ocean water.

The Caribbean

We are not big fans of cruises, but my family sure loves them. Scott has been on a few cruises and enjoys them here and there. The last and only time I was on a cruise ship was almost exactly 10 years ago for my dad’s 50th birthday. My dad is turning 60 this October and guess where he wants to go? On a family cruise to the Caribbean! Only this time there are seven young kids going with us. Quite a change from our kidless crew ten years ago.

For those of you considering a family trip with small children, we will be ready to report back on the dos and don’ts of traveling with kids on a cruise ship. Wish us luck!

On this cruise we will be stopping in Jamaica, Haiti and Mexico!

Maui

Once the weather starts to cool down here in November, Scott and I will be taking off for six days to the beautiful island of Maui. We have both been to this island before, but we plan to fill our trip with things we didn’t get a chance to do on our previous visits. The Road to Hana, surfing and a helicopter ride are just a few of the things we are excited about on this trip!

Christmas on a Tropical Island

We are looking at the possibility of an island trip over Christmas vacation. A few of the locations we are considering include Aruba, The Bahamas and Tahiti. We spent Christmas on a tropical island two years ago and it was one of our all time favorite experiences.

To Be Announced!

We have a few more trips on the horizon that have yet to be confirmed, so we are not ready to spill the beans quite yet. One of them is a set of islands that are very high on our list and include lots of good surf!

We would love your input. Let us know what you would like to know about any of these destinations and we will do our best to report back with tips as well as tons of photos!
